So we made the 5 hour trek down to Portland one morning and met them at the Ace Hotel downtown and started shooting. We shot for a couple hours around this awesome hotel then headed out to the coast. We all jumped in their car, made a Jack in the Box run {for very hungry, preggo me} ate a bunch of food and talked about music for this 2 hour drive. It was seriously amazing that Trey knew EVERY band I listed, even the small underground ones! It became this challenge to find a band he hadn’t heard of and I only found one.

So it was foggy and misty out in Ecola State Park then the joke of Twilight surfaced, that Alisa loved it and wanted to take “Twilight like pictures” haha. We just wished we had some glitter to throw on Trey while he stood half naked in the woods. He even showed us his “vampire face” .. where’s the glitter when you need it!

So a huge fog bank started to roll in and  they got married on this beautiful outlook overlooking the ocean with only us to witness and shoot it. We even had to sign their marriage license! This is the 2nd time we’ve had to do that and it’s so much fun!!!

So they were married and we just kept shooting, the light was gorgeous and we all had fun… Jow the officiant came with us to shoot, haha. We even saw some elk roaming around! After all that we jumped back in the car and drove back to Portland, starving and sleepy we walked to Deschutes Brewery at like 10 or 11pm and got some food and beer {no beer for me}… and that was the story of their wedding day!

Trey claimed this was our payback for making us drive 5 hours to get to them… haha

So we drove to Ecola State Park and met this guy, Joe, in the parking lot.. Alisa ran in the bathroom to put her dress back on and then we got started. Joe was so funny, just this random guy, a slight hippy… marrying them on a spot they chose when we got there.

THIS is what I was shooting when Grayson took that photo of me and stuck it on the blog that looked like I was sleeping int he woods in front of a couple! SEE!!

Ok, I HAD to put this photo in {Sorry Alisa}. We were trying to get them into this position and she did NOT understand what we were asking her to do, this is what came out of it and we couldn’t stop laughing.. It took a good 5 minuted to re cooperate enough to keep shooting.

This frame is from Wednesday in Ecola State Park, OR.  I was avoiding getting Heather in the shot, but then just embraced it.  I think she was temporarily drained and had to plop on the ground and catch a couple Z’s.  I don’t blame her.  But joking aside, this frame is pure AWESOMENESS!

OBVIOUSLY she is taking a photo, just laying on the ground doing it… but it really looks like she’ just taking a nap, we were cracking up at this picture.

Ok… this is a really odd story but I’m going for it. Up until the age of 5 I was Heather Goldstien… that’s right, Jewish all the way! BUT… my family got so many random phone calls with death threats, threatening to kill my brother and I for being Jewish {What the crap, in Anahiem, CA???}. People just looked up our name in the phone book and called! My mom kept saying “I’m not even Jewish, I just married one!”. So it got so bad that my parents changed our names to my mom’s name {Jagger}…. and I was Heather Jagger until I got married. Nuts right??

Anyway, Leah and Andy were stinkin awesome, we had such a good time with them, they were so funny and easy to be around. There wedding was great and beautiful and simple {all the things we love in a wedding}. They were married at Desconso Garden’s. This place was amazing, just a giant garden with all kinds of trees and flowers… so nice. You’ll see! This is the 2nd of our 5 California weddings in a row, we were out there for a month so there’s a lot more weddings to love coming sooooonnnn!

Leah and Andy left us a review on Project Wedding and here are the amazingly nice words they had to say:

Anyway, first we shot Brandon and Brittany’s wedding in May and they had the ever so awesome Magnolia Photo Booth, which Sara loved and got for her own wedding! We’ve seen a million photo booths at weddings and they are by FAR the best one to get! We’ve worked with them 3 times now, the first time in New Jersey,  and each time it gets better! Most people know that my life goal is to have a black and while photo booth in my living room {preferably a film one but I’m starting to consider digital after seeing theirs} So we have a schmorgish board of photo booth strips {yeessss!!}. So below is a little sampling of those babies.

So right now were with Grayson’s family in PA, relaxing, swimming and what not. His cousin got married and we had the pleasure of shooting his wedding {at THE most amazing location! You’ll see!} His whole family lives here, his mom ventured out long ago to California so they all come back to visit every year and I’ve gotten to come the last 2 years to shoot cousins weddings! It’s pretty stinkin awesome: a pool with a sweeeet slide, 4 wheelers, Amish people {my favorite!}  and about a million acres of forest to play in. Grayson’s mom and I fell asleep on the porch waiting for a crazy storm to come through, it was a nice nap. We woke up to a BBQ, swimming and playing “Things “by the fire. And I seriously can’t get enough of Amish people…

Soooooo, that’s why there hasn’t been too much to look at lately. But once we get those 12 shoots ready to go, there will be a ton! In the mean time enjoy these little strips of joy via photo booth!

After that we had some time before our flight and went to the free zoo. We pretty much go to the zoo in every state for some reason, it’s usually free on Sunday’s and we both love zoos!! We ran to see the hippos and had to run out quick but it was worth it! So moral of the story, St. Louis was awesome.

A giant kaleidoscope!

There was a room with stained glass windows and some of them reflected the buildings outside, it was so cool. Not sure if they planned it or not but it was awesoommeee!

Annnyyywaaayy. Mike and Roya got married, then Mike and Grayson fell into a deep man love. We got married a month apart at the same place and we were in each others weddings, it was a good time and a half. Well after all this they helped us move to Washington {a 25 hour straight drive from CA to WA… no stopping except for food and to pee, it was nuts}.  Road Trip Bingo was a hit for sure. The next day we all slept for 14 hours and didn’t get a chance to set off all the fireworks we bought {because they’re legal in WA!!!}. So after we moved, they moved to Chicago!

We take any excuse we can to go see them, we’ve been twice so far! Thank you Chicago weddings!! For some reason I can’t get enough of Chicago, it has a lot to do with the fact that these two lovely people are there and we get to spend 2 weeks with them! You see, Roya and I are both overly excitable people and everything is the most exciting thing in the world when we hang out.. and since she too is a wedding photographer we have the same, very open weekday schedule so we get to  hang out the wholleee ttiimmmeeeee!!! So it’s awesome going to see them and having someone be able to keep up with the glee! We decided to shoot them while we were there this time and just went nuts!!

We started shooting the night before in the alley behind their apartment.

We wandered downtown for a bit, but it was so late we kept getting kicked out of areas!

So moral of the story, if you want us to shoot your wedding in Chicago, we would be more than happy to!!!

Also, Evita brought some balloons and said she wanted to use them for the first look somehow, so I put my thinking cap on and came up with the best first look EEVVERRRR! {Which you’ll see soon}. We spent a half hour setting up who would be shooting from where to make it perfect along with the awesome Shade Tree Films and my old room mate Candice assisting them! Who knew how much time it takes to plan a shot for video! But it was worth it, we got to make it awesome. Would have been even better if we had a tripod but it was cooooll!

Also, Evita wanted to have 3 different looks for the photos, ceremony and reception. But instead of buying 3 dresses, she simply changed the one up with new accessories and a skirt piece that she added on for the ceremony, so clever! So enjoy the awesome Jon and Evita, they were adorable and had been together for 15 years before this day!! So it was was needless to say, a BIG day for them.

I wish we could figure out how many miles we flew, but that’s just too intense, haha.

This year was in one word, amazing. We are so incredibly blessed to get to do what we do! We get to shoot weddings, got to travel all over the US and meet awesome couples, we went to 16 different states this year and one country! It still amazes both of us that this is our JOB. We are overly thankful that we get to do this and thankful to the awesome couples that like our photos enough to hire us. So, thank you to all you couples and to everyone who has followed our blog this year, left comments or tweets and sent us emails just to tell us you love our work! All of that means a lot to us and like I said, we still can’t believe we are where we are.

They got married at the LA River Center and it was so pretty!! It was one of the more gorgeous receptions we’ve ever seen, I couldn’t stop taking photos of it.

Jamie and Able are so stinkin cute too, she was soooo nervous and he was so laid back and everything seemed to be fine once they saw each other for the first time.

This guy rocked our socks off.

But first we got some breakfast since we shot in the morning in Pasadena {breakfast is our favorite meal of the day, can’t miss it!}. Pasadena is one of those cities that’s quickly growing on us, every time we shoot there we leave more surprised by how awesome this place is!
