We got to shoot some more of Grayson’s family while we were in PA {his uncles sister’s family}. These people were amazing, and I don’t think two girls could be more adorable. I got to meet them last year when we shot his other cousin’s wedding and Glee and Flare were the flower girls in that wedding. We went out on a nice day and just shot in some fields!

When I asked Grayson what I should title this post he laughed and said “You should title it ‘This could have been my nephew’.” hahahaha. Ok, so I know this would be awkward for a normal person, but I suppose I’m not a normal person. This is my ex-boyfriends {awesome} family whom I absolutely love! Despite the fact that we are constantly back in California, we have not had the pleasure of meeting Parker yet, and he’s over a year stinkin old!! Trisha has been asking, literally, for months, for us to shoot her, Ryan and Parker but we haven’t had time… until nooowwwww!!!! This was a good time and a half, I haven’t seen these people in a year and they’re even more awesome now! Plus they teamed up and created the worlds cutest baby. AND she’s prego with a 2nd! I can’t wait to shoot them again!

Now I have to tell a funny story about them. This is one of those stories I can never tell without cracking up and having to take breaks. A few years ago Trisha and Ryan took me out on this sail boat they had and we drove it around Newport Beach. We were watching the Christmas lights boat show in Balboa harbor and drove out to this dingy covered in seals. We were circling the dingy, shinning this huge light on the seals and the biggest one is just YELL-ING. {Grayson always cracks us when I imitate the sound} “GGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”…that’s the best I can go via typing. He’s shaking it’s head back and forth and what not. So this seal is so loud and seems really mad. All the sudden, it flops it’s huge butt over the end of the dingy and has massive diarrhea!! {I am cracking up just typing this} and it’s literally spewing out like a fire hose, pure, brown, watery poo. We’re all shocked and laughing hysterically. THEN……. then.. this brick wall of the worst smell known to man just punches us in the face! It was poo, rotten fish, mildew, dog vomit and Chinese food all rolled into one. We all yelled and covered our faces as fast as we could but there was no escaping it. So Ryan runs back to the wheel and drives the boat away as fast as he could… It was awesome.

I love that story. So back to the shoot, it was so fun! And by the end of the day Parker and Grayson’s {who it a kid magnet} were best friends. And Ryan introduced us to the best sandwich place ever where we got some tasty dinner! Anyway, here they are… The Cathey’s!

This was a combination of laughing because they were both trying to take a “serious” picture because “you can’t smile in every picture” according to Ryan, and because of the intense giggling coming from Parker while Grayson was making him crack up in the back ground.

I know this isn’t “technically” a good photo, being that Grayson is in the back ground trying to wrangle Parker. But it cracks me up. Ryan is trying to be so serious and she’s just laughing at him… I love it.

Meet the Ledgerwoods

Meet the Ledgerwoods! Jean + Toby are such an awesome couple and Joey was definitely a ball of energy! Joey was convinced he was Superman, Spiderman, and Wolverine rolled into one superhero. His moves almost convinced me.

We shot at the Beau Lodge and it was a super beautiful place. Trees, a pond, bridges… just a good ol’ outdoor sweet spot. The Ledgerwoods are expecting another little rascal soon and Jean wanted to show off her prego belly. Here are some of our favorites! Enjoy!

Douglas + Erinkay – {Anaheim, CA}

We first met Douglas and Erinkay at a Starbucks a long time ago when they wanted to meet us and talk about their wedding. We clicked right from the start. Erinkay and I (Grayson) actually went to the same high school together and talked about that for a bit. I didn’t remember her (she was a couple years older than me), but luckily I had a yearbook in the car. No, I don’t keep my yearbook with me at all times; I was in the process of moving and grabbed a couple last items from my “previous residence,” aka my parents house. We thought that it would be funny to take a picture of Erinkay’s senior portrait on our phone and text it to her as a joke. We thought it was hilarious, but didn’t hear back from her until the next day. We were getting really nervous that she might have taken it the wrong way, but she loved it and we all got a good laugh. I think that is what sealed the deal for us!

Douglas and Erinkay got married at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA. For you that haven’t seen this massive glass castle, its the one that almost makes you crash when you drive past it and the sun reflects right into your eyes. The party was at the Grand Californian Hotel right outside of Disneyland; which allowed us to take some cool shots of the bridal party. We did have a tough time getting past security though. We thought it was pretty funny that the reason that Erinkay couldn’t get through was that she looked too much like a princess and would mess with Disneyland’s mojo. We were told that they didn’t want little kids thinking she was one of the princesses and wanting to take pictures with her. It guess it would take away from the Disneyland “magic!” We finally got it sorted out and got some great shots. It was pretty funny and i’m sure that it will be something that they won’t forget.

One of the things that we loved about this wedding was that everyone loved Douglas and Erinkay so much (we understand why) and they were not afraid to show it. The reception was full of “performances” and awesome speeches. The sisters performed a song with cutouts of the couple, Erinkay’s dad and brother-in-laws sang a song to the tune of “my girl” with new lyrics, and the parents went all out when talking about the couple. It was really cool to see! We had a great time and wish Douglas and Erinkay the best in their marriage!

Ryan + Danielle- prego bliss

So a while back… yes, a while, we had the great pleasure of shooting one of my best friends tummy shots! I’ve known Ryan and Danielle for a long time now, and I loooovvee them! I got to shoot their engagement, their wedding and now their lovely baby good times. Wyatt is already born, and he’s amazingly cute (through the photos I’ve seen). Honestly, I don’t think many babies are cute- but he is adorable!!! I’m sure I’ll post pictures after I get to meet him when we go home for Christmas (in 2 days!!!). Well this shoot was fun, I think all of us were mostly just focused on hanging out and going to dinner after- so we had a good time. Here they are!!

Boz the baby… again

This is Boz Kaylen DaSilva. I have been shooting Boz since before she was born, we haven’t gotten to do it nearly enough, but that’s how it goes. She is amazingly cute and is just freakin awesome. Until she gave me a fat lip with her binki- no so good Boz.
Boz’z mama, Britani, and I have been good friends since we were 12. I moved to this new street and didn’t have any friends till one day she just showed up at my door after playing soccer in front of my house (just taunting me to come outside). Ever since that day we were inseparable, sleeping in the tree house, gorging on candy and ice cream everyday, beating up neighbor kids with rolls of half eaten cookie dough… the usual. I’ve been shooting Britani since I’ve owned a camera, I think we were 14. She was used in all of my high school photo projects, my muse of sorts. I’ve shot pretty much all of her phases of life… ahh the good times.
Then one day she met Joe, got married, had a little baby and the rest is history.

This… is Sara and Ian, brother and sister of course. Sara has been my best friend for years upon years and she is amazing. Ian is done with the Navy for a bit and they wanted to get their mom something she’d love for Christmas. Their house burnt down about 2 years ago and they lost all their family photos, so we took some more! With the help of my handy dany tandem bike (isn’t she beautiful?) and their pups, this is what we got! Oh and we can’t forget the ever so needed help of Grayson on the side lines, my human stool and dog handler for the day. Here are some of the awesome photos we came up with!

Meet… the Jefferson’s. They were referred to me by Nina and Andrew Wiskus, an amazing couple whose wedding I shot last May. This family was seriously just fun and their kids are so stinkin cute. Helena was clearly the leader, Natalie was the quiet one, Nile was the ham and Taylor just a cute baby! We had so much fun shooting these guys, I wish I could do it everyday!
