So I’ve never been to a wedding where the guys getting ready consists of practicing a dance, playing with a slinky and having a light saber war.. This was a first. I wish every wedding had these things. We met Alex and James a while back and we knew this wedding was going to be amazing. They told us all about how it was going to be centered around childhood, board games and superheros. We’re going to eat things you ate when you were kids like grilled cheese with tomato soup, hamburgers and onion rings and pasta {the food was so good by the way}.
They got married at the New Children’s Museum in San Diego, CA and we have been SO excited to shoot here since we met them. Alex and James were just flat out awesome, nothing was a big deal, no freak outs, just joking and having a good time and LOVING getting married! This post is a long one, so I’d grab a cup of coffee and a corn dog and sit back!
boys….
nothing like a bunch of dudes practicing their choreographed dance moves :]
He’ll film your wedding, he’ll make you look ever MORE awesome, he’ll tie your bow tie when you’re in need…. Chad
Their first look was so good!
my childhood best friend: the light bright.
mmmmmm cereaaaallllll
Their grand entrance was awesome!!!!
they had this huge light saber war with the groomsmen… it was awesome.
then onto the choreographed dance babyyy!!
the ultimate bouquet steal. mid air… you can see him in the photo above just waiting.
Then her Grandma caught it! WHATTTTT!?
We all zoomed in on this photo of his butt and were cracking up, I showed it to him and he LOVED it! haha

Why can’t I get hired for a wedding like this?! Better yet, why can’t I get invited to a wedding like this?! I need cooler friends! LOL! Amazing!!
WOW!!! How fun! Everything about this wedding is simply UH-MAZING. I love the location, theme, and details!!! And the photos are… of course… awesome! Although, there’s this one great photo (bride + groom seated behind a collage of cardboard art)- I can picture Heather laying flat on her belly to take the shot… tsk tsk… Lol! Anyway, congratulations to Alex + James! I would have paid to see your wedding!
Oh my garden, this couple is ridiculously awesome!!! I love how they incorporated the comics! AND Lite Brite!! Their first look made me want to cry….totally reminded me of the scene in Cruel Intentions where Ryan Phillippe is waiting for Reese Witherspoon at the top of the escalator (sigh), amazing.
The page is loading really slow might be because of some image sizes. But it is worth the wait. I love it.
best wedding ever in the history of weddings! how fun!
I agree with sarah. Absolutely awesome! Haven’t seen this much creativity for long.
Totally and completely in love with this wedding–and couple!
I absolutely love this. It’s a wedding after my own heart, or my husband’s heart I should say. He’s a huge superhero nerd, which I love. This wedding is brilliant and I so wish I could have been there, it looks like such a fun group of people!!! Yay!!
I just saw this over on GWS and I love you two so much! Can we be friends? ha ha! It is reminding me so much of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Pretty much the awesomest movie of 2010. Entrance was kick-ass, capes rule, so do the RINGS OF POWER!! Love everything!
Wow, these guys know how to party! So much fun!
cutest flower girl and ringbearer EVER!!

Holy crap, I just stumbled upon this and I am speechless! So why am I even commenting?! Because this wedding deserves to know that people in Kentucky are jealous of it. Amazing photos and amazing wedding. I will never be able to live up to this.
