Hello! We are Heather + Grayson, a married duo of wedding photographers! Welcome to our blog! We just moved to the great state of Washington from the other great state of sunny California. BUT, we kind of go back and forth and we shoot ANYWHERE! This blog is used as sort of journal of our lives! We post all of our shoots, things we do in everyday life, random tidbits and anything else you can think of. If you like something you see, feel free to leave us a comment and let us know! We’d love to hear what you have to say and get to know you!

about us

our wedding day!!!!!

We were interviwed for a wedding blog, thought this would be a good spot to post it and give you some more info!

What is the highlight of working with Jagger Photography?

The best part of our job is that we get to work together. My husband and I are lucky enough to get to travel and shoot amazing weddings every weekend. It’s what I always “wanted to do” and it happened!

Describe the best event you have photographed.  What made this event special?

The best wedding we ever photographed was Jen + Jeff in Morris, IL. It was our first really far away wedding, a really exciting time for us and it was an amazing day. The couples wedding was the exact wedding we’d always wanted to shoot. It was very personal, home made, backyard BBQ with amazing vintage inspirations, awesome details, bikes and an amazing couple who was so excited to be getting married to each other. Everything went perfectly and the couple was so comfortable with us {and vise versa}. We love shooting weddings that have a really creative flare and are different and unique and this was one of those!

What is the benefit to using a professional photographer?

There are so many! The main benefit is that we have an artistic eye! We know what we are doing and we absolutely love doing it. We end up sort of coordinating people’s days if they need help because we have so much wedding experience. The couples feel more secure knowing the wedding is in the hands of people who are very capable of capturing the moments of it. Personally, it makes me cringe when I  hear “we are hiring a friend”…. don’t do it. If they want amazing images, go with a professional.

Do you have any advice for someone just beginning to think about how to find the right photographer?

Yes! Of course, look for someone whose style you are in love with! It’s so important that you love what they do because they will be taking your photos in the same style. Also, visit their blog, see more than 20 images from each wedding. Some photographers will showcase their best 10-20 images because that’s all they got worth showing. Ask to see a full wedding {or two, or three!}. And lastly, try to get to know the photographers, it’s important that you guys click and you can feel comfortable around them.

Any advice for someone on the day of the event?

Relax and have fun!!! This is your ONE day and it flies by, just enjoy every second and leave the small details and problems to your vendors or whoever else, not YOU. Just never forget that this wedding is happening to get married to someone you are in love with, not to be perfect and impress people.

Any tips or secrets on what to wear or do to make your photos look the best?

I always want peoples wedding day to reflect who they really are. If you’re a really low key woman in the first place, don’t have a crazy hair doo and tons of makeup with a bunch of elements that would never make sense in your everyday life. Be yourself. Also fake eye lashes always look amazing, haha.

How far will you travel?

We travel all over the US and outside to shoot our weddings.

What makes your photography different?  Do you and your husband always shoot together?

We are different because go into every wedding with a fresh eye to make the images different and unique to them. We really strive to make them artistic but not fake and stark. We want couples to be  themselves and just have fun with us and enjoy their wedding day. When you look at your image we want you to SEE your wedding and see moments you already forgot about or didn’t even notice. We are different because we shoot together, always us, not some assistant with a “Jagger Photography” name badge on. This is what we do full time so we spend hours making each image beautiful and unique to you guys.
